International luxury chocolate brand Sunday in Scotland chose Valletta as the picture-perfect setting for its first boutique café and chocolate shop.
Located on pretty St Lucy’s Street in the heart of Valletta, Sunday in Scotland – a luxury artisan chocolate shop and boutique café – is the latest global brand to start its story in Malta.
With its striking blue and gold-mirrored façade, Sunday in Scotland stands out among the quaint shops and bars that line this stepped-street in Valletta. And it has been noticed: already fans are calling it an artistic ‘gem’ in the city, with others suggesting it has ‘the best coffee in the capital’.
Behind the innovative concept is initiator Amer Wahoud – who recently chose to make Malta his home and to open the business here – and international hotelier Gordon Campbell Gray, the founder of Campbell Gray Hotels. “The concept behind Sunday in Scotland was conceived on a summer afternoon in the Scottish highlands, and is reminiscent of the Sundays of our childhood – a magical time for dreaming, unwinding, and, of course, indulging in life’s finest treats,” Mr Wahoud explains.
A passionate chocolatier, Mr Wahoud set out to develop a new and refined chocolate concept, with a base in Malta but which destined to become a global luxury brand. With that in mind, Sunday in Scotland presents an array of flavours to please every palate – be it a classic chocolate or praline tart, a fruity lemon or mixed berry cake, or a scrumptious caramel, honey or marzipan dessert. Their menu also offers a selection of other mouth-watering treats, including flans, chocolate, biscuits and pastries, all of which are homemade and can be enjoyed indoors in the uniquely stylish surroundings of this boutique café, or out on St Lucy’s steps as you watch the world go by.
The artisan chocolates – including Sunday in Scotland’s signature Original Maltese Falcon sculpture – are also a perfect gift that can be taken-away in the most beautiful packaging.
Sunday in Scotland’s unique chocolates and pastries are proudly made in Malta using the finest ingredients – all meticulously sourced and turned into one-of-a-kind products. This means that the product range can be enjoyed in the boutique, taken-away to be eaten later, given as a gift, or even ordered ahead for convenience. Meanwhile, the venue itself is the ideal destination for any occasion – whether it’s a morning coffee, afternoon tea or an evening party with the great pairing wine or champagne with chocolate – and it is available for group bookings.
Sunday in Scotland is located on St Lucy’s Street in Valletta, and is open daily from 7.30am-9pm (Fridays & Saturdays until midnight). For more information, visit sundayinscotland.com, call on 9999 6656 or find them on social media @SundayinScotland.
