Folly, Fantasy & Feeling combines locally-inspired poetry with music and song, in an evening supporting the Save Valletta’s Skyline appeal – and tickets make the perfect last-minute Christmas present.
The popular poetry performance that delighted audiences at the Teatru Salesjan earlier this year is set to return in February, with a soirée named Folly, Fantasy & Feeling.
Hosted by Nicholas de Piro, Lucy Paterson and the pianist Alex Manché, the evening of entertainment will showcase locally-connected humorous and sentimental poems by several poets, all performed in English. These hilarious and thought-provoking verses will be shared against a backdrop of music, song, and even a chorus line.
Proceeds from the one-off event will once again support the Save Valletta’s Skyline Appeal, which aims to raise more than €8 million to fund vital restoration work to the tower, spire and structure of the iconic St Paul’s Pro-Cathedral in Valletta.

“The Valletta skyline tells us an awful lot about our identity,” says Nicholas, who resides with his wife Frances (Ding) in their home Casa Rocca Piccola in Valletta, a 16th century palace that is open to the public. “The Skyline Appeal reminds me that we must preserve it at all costs, as a vital part of Malta’s cultural heritage.”
Booking for the one-night-only performance of Folly, Fantasy & Feeling is now open, with tickets available online from the Teatru Manoel website, so don’t miss the chance to support this worthy cause, as well as surprise a poetry-lover this Christmas with the gift of a magnificent evening of music and verse.
Folly, Fantasy & Feeling will be performed for one night only at the Teatru Salesjan, Sliema from 6.30pm until 9pm, on Wednesday 27 February 2019. Patrons are entitled to free parking. Tickets are available from the Teatru Manoel website at booking.teatrumanoel.com.mt/Event/12384/
