It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas – and it looks like the COVID-19 pandemic may just turn out to be the Grinch for the festivities this year.

But while most of us will be driving (and staying) home for Christmas, that doesn’t mean that Santa needs to socially distance or that Christmas office events can’t happen With a little help from Outdoor Living, Santa and his elves have gone online this year, to help you kick-start the Christmas celebrations with your colleagues, no matter where they are.

“We are delighted to have launched a new series of Christmas-themed online events to help spread a little festive cheer for everyone in Malta at the end of this difficult year,” says Danica Fava, co-founder of Outdoor Living, Malta’s largest and longest-running teambuilding events company. “We hope that taking part in these fun and unforgettable experiences will become a new Christmas tradition that every year brings together co-workers in Malta and around the world.”

As part of the Catalyst Global network – the top 50 teambuilding providers worldwide that collaborate to deliver high quality events – Outdoor Living has created an exclusive range of memory-making virtual Christmas activities, including one where you can transform into Santa and his elves on Christmas night.

In ‘Race Around the World – Festive Edition’, everyone connects online in a breakout room and elects a ‘Santa’ while the rest become elves, before starting a race to take on hilarious challenges and deliver toys to children in as many countries as possible in one night.

You could also boost your collection of frameable photographs through ‘A Picture-Perfect Christmas’, where everyone needs to use whatever props or costumes they have to-hand at home to recreate famous Christmas-themed photographs. More photo-based hilarity can be found in ‘Swipe Face’, where participants are challenged to imitate poses, with just 30 seconds to take the perfect selfie.

Perhaps you and your colleagues could become the ultimate Christmas choir in ‘E-Choir’. Here, everyone receives vocal coaching to record their individual performance on their phone before all parts are carefully mixed by a professional producer to create a one-of-a-kind final track. Working together never tasted so good in another activity where every participant is sent a gingerbread house kit to complete at home through the game, while those who enjoy card games may also enjoy an online poker tournament with live dealers.

For many, no Christmas is complete without a Christmas quiz – and there are three new online events that can help you keep up that tradition. In ‘Quickfire Christmas Teams’, teammates need to spontaneously complete mental, physical and creative challenges, while in ‘Music Bingo & Trivia’ your colleagues can take part in a customised bingo game of holiday songs and trivia. For the full gameshow experience, your  teams can also compete in a fast-paced and energetic virtual quiz led by a specialised gameshow host in ‘The Big Christmas Quiz Live’.
