Following the success of the first two issues, local comic book series Energy Quest is now seeking backers to help bring its much-anticipated third instalment to life.

Starring Zero, a mechanical AI teddy bear, Energy Quest is an epic post-apocalyptic adventure filled with dystopian lands, quirky characters and a plot that unfolds with each issue in the planned seven-part series.

Launched on Zaar, the crowdfunding campaign gives comic book fans the chance to help Zero begin his next exciting chapter in the series. In the third issue, he embarks on a daring mission to find the mythical Immortal Battery, a power source that could change the course of his survival. The stakes are higher than ever as a nefarious and more powerful AI called the Hive, as a well as human survivors, hunt Zero across the perilous wilderness – forcing him to rely on a mysterious figure whose intentions remain unclear.

Peter Magro, the creator and comic artist behind Energy Quest and owner of its mother company Piston Chronicles, hopes that the collective power of the comic book community through crowdfunding will bring his vision to the next level. “This is your chance to be part of something electrifying,” he says. “By supporting this campaign, you’re not only funding Issue #3 – you’re helping indie creators and Piston Chronicles take Energy Quest to new heights. Comic creating is not just about telling a story, but about building a community of fans and supporters like you who believe in creativity, innovation and the power of comics to inspire.”

Since its launch, excited backers have already raised more than half the Zaar campaign’s funding goal of €600, a sum that will not only make the 50-page Energy Quest: Issue 3 a reality in full colour, but also provide exclusive items and – for the first time – even merchandise.

All backers, from casual fans to die-hard comic lovers, can unlock rewards depending on the amount they donate, including signed copies of Energy Quest: Issue 3, signed original sketches or limited edition merchandise such as coasters and keychains.
