An upcoming event in Malta aims to help entrepreneurs wishing to scale up and aspiring entrepreneurs looking to start a business overcome one of their biggest roadblocks to success – funding.

As the next in-person event from The Foundation for the Promotion of Entrepreneurial Initiatives (FPEI) and its Future Founders Plus community, Funding Your Startup in Malta: Grants, Schemes, Crowdfunding & Angel Investment will take place on Thursday 27 March at Malta Enterprise.

It brings together Malta’s top funding experts for a panel discussion to demystify the process of securing financial support, with practical, no-nonsense advice on the financial opportunities and support available to founders and small business owners in Malta.

From insights on active EU and national grants or schemes from Malta Enterprise and Xjenza Malta to tips on how to secure backing from an angel investor, attendees will learn how to position their business for financial success, gaining valuable insider knowledge on grants, investment and crowdfunding strategies.

Moderated by startup founder and FPEI team member Donna Cardona, the discussion will feature Audrey Caruana of Malta Enterprise, Giselle Borg Olivier of Zaar Crowdfunding and angel investor Stephen Chetcuti Bonavita, with a representative from Xjenza Malta set to be announced soon.

“For many entrepreneurs, the biggest hurdle is not the idea, but the funding. Every great business starts with an idea, but securing funding turns ideas into reality. Through connecting founders with the people who can help them navigate the funding maze, Funding Your Startup in Malta will help empower them to take that next step and overcome this crucial barrier to their business,” says Giselle Borg Olivier, FPEI Foundation Manager.

The event is the latest from Future Founders Plus, FPEI’s dedicated community for entrepreneurs in Malta. Whether launching a startup or expanding an existing business, members gain exclusive access to resources and events that help navigate Malta’s business landscape, with networking and skills development opportunities as well as expert-led discussions designed to support business growth and innovation. Funding Your Startup in Malta: Grants, Schemes, Crowdfunding & Angel Investment is free for Future Founders Plus members and open to non-members for a fee of €25.

FPEI’s Funding Your Startup in Malta: Grants, Schemes, Crowdfunding & Angel Investment event will be held in person on Thursday 27 March from 6pm at Malta Enterprise, Gwardamangia Hill, Pietà.
