Finesse Group recently hosted its first-ever Business Breakfast, featuring great company, delicious food and a valuable reminder of what marketing is really about: people.

Held at Emma’s Kitchen in San Ġwann on Thursday 10 April, the Finesse Business Breakfast set the tone for a more connected, human-centred future in PR and marketing. Over coffee, croissants and compelling conversation, the event brought together a select group of business owners and leaders to network and discuss how to build real, human connections in a hyper-digital world.

Finesse Founder and CEO Jo Caruana shared eye-opening insights and trends about H2H (Human-to-Human) marketing in the age of AI, plus what’s changing in the way people interact with brands and businesses – and the cost of ignoring it.

With recent research showing that 70–80% of people are starting to tune out online ads, email click-throughs are down to just 3% and 69% of consumers are suffering from ‘digital fatigue’, there’s a growing case for moving away from mass communication and back towards thoughtful, personal and meaningful engagement, she revealed.

“The brands that people trust and remember are the ones that feel human,” she said at the cosy breakfast gathering. “Of course, digital still has a very important place – and it’s even part of our service offering for our clients – but most people in marketing will have to admit that it’s not working the way it used to. Customers are overwhelmed; they want to feel seen. Now sustainable, long-term business growth is about strategic storytelling and how you make people feel. And personalisation pays off – companies that prioritise customised experiences see 40% more revenue growth. Brands that lead with human connection enjoy 30% higher repeat business, while improving customer retention by just 5% can boost your profits by up to 75%. That’s huge.”

Beyond business, the Finesse team also marked the occasion by sponsoring the planting of eight trees to help rehabilitate a part of Majjistral Nature and History Park – an impactful nod to the debut Finesse Business Breakfast’s focus on sustainable, long-term growth.

The event was intentionally intimate and intentionally human – and the feedback from attendees suggests it struck a chord. With new connections made and ideas already in motion, the Finesse Business Breakfast looks set to become a favourite fixture among Malta’s business community.
