The on-going Covid-19 quarantine may mean that restaurants are closed and special occasions postponed, but that doesn’t mean celebrations have to stop completely.
Known for being one of the island’s top choices for special occasion dining, Far Eastern restaurant Rickshaw – located in the Corinthia Palace in Attard – has long been a popular go-to for birthdays, anniversaries and other milestone moments. Now it plans to be exactly that again, with a specially-designed take-out and delivery menu that was launched this week.
“We absolutely love that our guests share their important occasions with us at Rickshaw and we have always tried to make them as special as possible,” says Corinthia Palace general manager Adrian Attard. “The restaurant has been closed for a few weeks now because of the pandemic, and many of our guests have been in touch to say how much they miss the Rickshaw experience, so we have found a way to take it to them!”
Rickshaw has so far launched four special menus designed to make at-home dining special. Each option includes a selection of starters, main courses and desserts, with a few little surprises added in to ensure that famed ‘Rickshaw touch’ transcends the distance.
Diners will be able to collect their take-out themselves by driving up to the Corinthia Palace, where it will be handed to them. A delivery service is also available to the central Malta region, executed in true five star luxury fashion.
“Of course, what we really want is to have our guests back with us. However, as this is not possible, we want to help people to create special moments at home,” says Corinthia Palace Hotel general manager Adrian Attard.
“As our regular patrons know, we thrive on creating memorable experiences. With this offering we do not just want to offer amazing Asian cuisine, but to help you create a special evening in your own home.”
What the team at the Corinthia Palace are proposing is that you take the opportunity to set the scene. Starting off with dressing up for the evening in your favourite outfit. Laying the table with your best crockery and cutlery and opening that bottle of champagne you’ve been looking forward to enjoying together. Switch off the TV and put on your favourite romantic playlist. Dim the lights and light some candles, maybe even pick some flowers from the garden. You can collect your food from the Corinthia Palace’s entrance without leaving your car or alternatively the Hotel’s chauffer will arrive with your delivery and all you have do is sit back and enjoy the conversation.
“With this service we have not created just another take away option. Our aim, as always, is to allow you to create a moment of luxury and for your lives to be uplifted. In challenging times like this we feel that this is even more important,” Mr Attard adds.
As always, Corinthia Palace is also dedicated to supporting the local community. Thus, part of the sale from each Rickshaw experience will be donated to the Foodbank Lifeline to enable this incredible organisation to continue its work with the less fortunate in our society.
