This November, GoTo Malta celebrates three years since it launched the first self-driven shared mobility platform on the island.

Malta was the first country that GoTo Global earmarked when embarking on its international expansion. Following its launch in 2018, it fast became one of the leading and most recognisable brands within the island’s transport network.

Part of a rapidly growing global multi-modal mobility brand, GoTo Malta aims to reduce vehicle congestion on the island, offering commuters an alternative to private vehicle ownership with new forms of shared mobility that are both cost effective and environmentally friendly. Making every journey simple, convenient and sustainable, GoTo Malta offers One-Way and Roundtrip solutions, allowing users to access a vast fleet of shared electric cars and mopeds that are all accessible via one simple and intuitive app.

“GoTo’s vision is centred around multi-modality. We know every day is different: on some days you may just want to pop to a shop, on others you may need a car at your fingertips to run errands. Whatever the day, whatever your needs, GoTo is the right solution,” explains GoTo Global CEO Gil Laser. “We are proud of the many achievements of GoTo Malta in just three years. The ongoing success of GoTo in Malta is true testament to the positive impact and growth of the GoTo brand globally. I look forward to GoTo’s bright future, both nationally and internationally.”

Over the last three years, the multi-modal provider has welcomed more than 30,000 subscribers in Malta, while GoTo’s electric vehicles have covered more than five million kilometres and collectively saved five tonnes in CO2 emissions.

“We are honoured to celebrate this milestone here in Malta and all that has been achieved so far,” says Zach Bergerson, GoTo Malta Country Manager. “We know that the challenge of congestion is very real across the island, and that we can be a key component in a shared mobility ecosystem that hits right at the heart of this challenge. As well as reducing the number of private vehicles on the road and offering a more sustainable way of moving around, we also pride ourselves on being an active member of the local community, regularly undertaking key initiatives aimed at leaving a positive impact.”

On a global level, GoTo is working hard towards its goal of bringing multi-modal shared mobility to every major European city by 2025. After recently acquiring German scooter operator emmy, the company is in the process of raising new investment to power its upcoming planned expansion into Italy, Netherlands and Portugal.

To celebrate GoTo Malta’s third anniversary, new users who register in November will receive a total of €30 free driving credit, split into €15 to be used in November and €15 in December. Simply apply the promo code ‘CELEBRATE’ when registering. Meanwhile, existing users who ride all three GoTo Malta services throughout November will also get the chance to win €100 free driving credit, with the winner chosen at random and contacted by one of GoTo’s representatives.
